Philadelphia, PA – September 2, 2025 – Hearthfire Holdings is proud to announce the promotion of Peter (Pete) McDaniel from Director of Construction to Chief Development Officer (CDO).

Pete brings more than 22 years of real estate development and construction leadership to his new role, spanning laboratory, healthcare, education, stadium, government, and civil projects. At Hearthfire, Pete has been instrumental in the completion of 7+ self-storage construction projects in the last 12 months alone , proving our platform can deliver at scale, while at the same time driving efficiency and accuracy across every phase of our pipeline—from site evaluation through delivery.

Prior to joining Hearthfire, Pete served as Development Manager for Extra Space Storage, where he oversaw projects across the Midwest and Northeast, building a reputation for operational precision and scalable execution. He began his career as a general contractor, managing complex, multi-million-dollar developments for public and private clients before transitioning to ownership-side leadership.

In his new role as Chief Development Officer, Pete will oversee the full life cycle of Hearthfire’s development strategy—including site acquisition, entitlement, design, construction, and delivery—with a focus on institutional-quality standards and investor-aligned outcomes. He will also formally lead the development of our newest division, Hearthfire Development Partners (formerly Hearthfire Storage Partners), which expands our ability to extend our development and partnership model to independent self storage owners, operators, and joint venture partners to deliver institutional-caliber projects and create long-term value for investors. His leadership will continue to strengthen Hearthfire’s mission of providing  through self-storage development and preferred-equity partnerships.

Pete earned his degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University–Commerce. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his partner Marissa and their three children—Tucker, Ellen, and Brody—often at live events, outdoors on the golf course or ski slopes, or traveling with family.
